Homeless for a Night is held annually in May to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Hot ‘n’ Healthy Meals program which provides meals to the homeless and struggling people of Perth.
With NO government funding Manna run this event in an attempt to raise enough money to be able to provide meals through the year. By attending this event, and fundraising if you wish to, you will be making a huge difference to the lives of others who are less fortunate.
We encourage everyone to come along although appreciate some people for health reasons cannot sleep so we ask them to join us until 10pm before they head home. We would rather have you be a part of most of the event than not at all.
Homeless at Home
Some in a family may want to sleep out, some may not. Get the kids involved and join them in the backyard for the night. Being ‘Homeless at Home’ means that anyone, anywhere can be a part of this amazing event – you could even be homeless at home on a different night if you already have plans for the 14th May.
Simply register on the mycause website, tick the Homeless at Home box.
You could even get family and friends to sleep out with you. All those who register and raise over $250 will be in the running for an Ipad, as well as receiving a scarf and other incentives that we have spoken about.
Set a target for many meals you’d like to provide – remember every $5 equals 1 additional meal.
Ask friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor you as you work towards achieving this target.
Share the event with your friends and family and Like us on Facebook.
Plan how you will spend your night for ‘Homeless at Home’ and who will join you.
On the 14th May, upload a photo to the Facebook and Instagram pages in your beanie or onesie and tell everyone how your spending the night and how much you’ve raised.
Follow our Instagram and Facebook sites for updates from others on the night/
We’ll stream these uploads live at the HFAN event, so others can see what you’ve achieved.
Don’t forget to use the campaign hashtags #homelessforanight, #homelessathome, #everymealcounts
