Pay the Set up costs to start
the School Breakfast Program

$5,500 (this is a one off cost to start the program in a School)

There is currently a waiting list for schools that would like to be a part of our School Breakfast Program.

Manna sets up each school with everything they need to run the breakfast program.   The set up fee buys all the appliances/utensils needed.   These  include: a fridge, stove, microwave, chopping boards, knives etc, as well as all the bowls, plates and cutlery required for the children to be able to sit and eat a good breakfast before school starts.

Continue the School Breakfast
Program for one year

$6,000 per year – supplies food equivalent to breakfast for forty (40) children five (5) days a week for the forty (40) weeks of the school year.

This program began in 2001 when Bev realised that children were going to school without breakfast, and some had not eaten dinner the night before either. Manna provides the children with a healthy breakfast that could include cereals, toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes and warm drinks.  Lunch is also offered in some schools consisting of a sandwich, some fruit and a special protein slice (hedgehog) made by Manna especially for schools.

The results are amazing.  School staff report increased attendance and concentration, better academic grades, and improved behaviour among their peers and in the classroom.

We encourage sponsors to get involved with their school – attend special days, mentor students, and be a part of the breakfast club regularly (this is optional).

Sponsor a School for
The Winter School Uniform Program

From $1,000 – $4,000

$100 provides one winter school uniform package

During the breakfast programs Bev and John noticed children who were cold, wet and sick because they did not have the necessary clothing to keep them dry. In 2008 the Winter School Uniform Program began providing disadvantaged students with a school tracksuit and a parka to keep them dry and warm.

We are now in over 40 schools and the demand continues to grow.  Teachers nominate the students who are most in need which means uniform numbers vary by school.  These uniforms are vital to students who come from situations that we couldn’t imagine.

By sponsoring a school you ensure their most vulnerable students are looked after this winter.  Deliver the parkas to school personnel, encourage your staff to get involved.
