Please note that Manna is closed on Christmas Day as Mission Australia put on a wonderful lunch for over 2,000 people in the city.  The Manna kitchen remains open for the remainder of the Festive Season.

Manna relies heavily on many Volunteers and there is always plenty of opportunity to assist us in lots of different ways.

If you want to help those in your community, then why not give some of your time to work in our kitchen or utilise your professional or administration skills to assist Manna to continue its journey?

The meals for the homeless are prepared fresh every day by our teams of volunteers.

We are thankful for the on-going commitment of our Volunteers, realizing we could not do what we do without them.    Each daily team has a “team leader” making them self sufficient and completely managed by the volunteers on the day.

Some volunteers participate in the kitchen every week and some once a fortnight.

This means that our amazing Kitchen Coordinator (Lolo) is free to work with the corporate volunteers who are in our kitchen 3 mornings a week.

The Corporate Teams usually do preparation work to assist our afternoon teams eg making the soup, prepare meals for the other charities we support, as well as making the healthy slice we supply to our breakfast club schools.

To cope with the interest in Manna, and those wanting to volunteer, Manna now has 2 volunteer coordinators – one for our regular volunteers and the other for corporate groups.    Both coordinators are kept very busy.

If you would like to learn more about volunteering opportunities at Manna then please attend one of our Information Evenings.

These are held on a regular basis at the Manna kitchen located at The Senior Citizens Association (The Homestead), 5 Mackie Street, Victoria Park.

Bev and John will share the Manna story and we will talk about the different volunteering opportunities.
